"Well, my 91 yr-old mom, Mollie (Schwantz) Hayes, went to join my dad and her parents this morning. ?? My daughter, Mollie, and I arrived in S. California Friday afternoon and were able to spend some enjoyable time with Mom, my sisters and niece, as my Mom smiled, and even cracked a few jokes, though she was in some pain.
This morning we got the phone call that Mom had passed away quietly in her sleep - just as she'd wanted. Although she definitely did not want a memorial service, the family will be getting together for a little 'memorial' meal or gathering at a later date. Thanks for all your prayers - it really went as well as could be asked for, and in the end, we feel blessed to have almost all of us been able to spend those last few hours with her, enjoying one another."
