He married Shirley Jean Knight, daughter of Willie Knight and Mary Jane Thomas, on 7 August 1948 at Texas.1 He died on 28 July 1998 at Tarrant County, Texas.

MINERAL WELLS - Walter Corbett Milliken, 71, a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone employee, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at a Fort Worth hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. Burial: Woodland Park Cemetery.

Walter Milliken was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Freestone County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Survivors: Wife, Shirley Milliken; sons, Mike Milliken of Denton and Mark Milliken of Mineral Wells; daughter, Patti Walker of Abilene; sister, Aubra Bratcher of Kennedale; grandchildren, Rachael, Jarred and Lindsay Milliken and Nathan, Jeff and Sam Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
