     Josef Najvar was also known as Joseph after coming to Texas. He was born in November 1847 at Moravia.¹ He married Klara Unknown on 24 June 1892 at Lavaca County, Texas.^1,2 He was the founder of the Czech language newspaper, Nasinec in 1914 at Hallettsville, Lavaca County, Texas. He died on 16 January 1915 at Lavaca County, Texas, at age 67.³

     Judi Gayle Najvar is the daughter of Albert Alois Najvar and Jo Anne Frances Thornton.¹ She married Michael A. Gonzalez on 18 December 1993 at Kleberg County, Texas.²

     Julius Najvar is the son of August Najvar Sr. and Jenovefa Smykal.¹

     Kenneth Joseph Najvar is the son of Jerome Stephen Najvar and Mary Anne McFadyen.¹ He married Jetta C. Damuth on 30 August 1991 at Gregg County, Texas.¹

     Kristine Marie Najvar was born on 12 July 1966 at Kleberg County, Texas.¹ She was the daughter of Albert Alois Najvar and Jo Anne Frances Thornton.¹ She married Morris Dale Cotton Jr. on 31 March 1990 at Nueces County, Texas.² She died on 24 September 2019 at Kingsville, Kleberg County, Texas, at age 53.³

     Marcel John Najvar was born on 18 August 1928 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.³ He was the son of Thomas David Najvar and Anna Albina Zapalac.³ He married Alice Marie Horney, daughter of Alex Horney and Anna Willms, before 1946 at USA. On May 1946 Marcel John Najvar was described as 6' tall with blond hair, blue eyes, a light complection and a mole at the right corner of his mouth when he registered for the draft.⁴ He died on 7 December 1993 at Goliad, Goliad County, Texas, at age 65.³

He was born Aug. 18, 1928, in San Antonio to the late Thomas David and Annie Zapalac Najvar. He was a retire consultant, having worked in the oil industry. Mr. Najvar was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors: wife, Alice Najvar; daughters, Janice Carville of Paonia. Colo., Patricia Morris of Victoria and Annette Milliken of Round Rock; sons, Jim Najvar and Allen Najvar of Goliad; sisters, Betty Richter of San Antonio, Agnes Porter of Houston and Frances Spring of Gonzales; brothers, Ivan Najvar of Victoria, Billy Najvar of Kingsville, Thomas David Najvar of Falls City and Jerry Najvar of Longview; and seven grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by: sisters, Margaret Najvar and Annie Najvar; and brother, Albert Najvar.
Rosary service: 7:30 p.m. today, Colonial Funeral Home chapel in Goliad.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. Jude Belisle officiating.
The body will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. Friday until service time.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery in Goliad, Colonial Funeral Home, Goliad, 645-3216.

     Margaret Theresa Najvar was born on 13 October 1946 at Atascosa County, Texas.^1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas David Najvar and Anna Albina Zapalac.¹ She died on 31 May 1971 at Lavaca County, Texas, at age 24.²

     Mark Jerome Najvar is the son of Jerome Stephen Najvar and Mary Anne McFadyen.¹ He married Christy M. Caswell on 25 October 2008 at Harris County, Texas.²

     Mary Najvar is the daughter of August Najvar Sr. and Jenovefa Smykal.¹ She married Joseph Salevinski on 14 January 1930 at Karnes County, Texas.²

     Mary Najvar was born in November 1884 at Texas.¹ She was the daughter of Josef Najvar.¹
