     Katherine Shuler may have been spelled Catherine.² She was born on 16 January 1808 at USA.¹ She was the daughter of Michael Nicholas Shuler Jr. and Charity Anna Myers.¹ She married Hezekiah Hiram Hall before 1837 at USA.¹ She died on 16 January 1879 at USA at age 71.¹

     Kathryn Irene Shuler also went by the name of Kathy.^3,4 She was born on 10 February 1942 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Wayne Franklin Shuler and Mary Eileen Brouse.¹ She married Sherman L. Hartell on 15 July 1961 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.⁵ She married John Arthur Hershey on 14 December 1996 at Noblesville, Hamilton County, Indiana.⁶ She died on 24 January 2025 at Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana, at age 82.^7,4

Kathryn I. "Kathy" (Shuler) Hershey Obituary

Mrs. Kathryn I. "Kathy" (Shuler) Hershey, age 82, of Westfield, Indiana, entered this life on February 10, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Wayne Franklin "Bud" and Eileen Mary (Brouse) Shuler. She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from St. Agnes Academy. Kathy received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana. Kathy went onto to receive her Registered Nursing degree from Marian College of Nursing in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was inducted into the United States Navy and served in the Persian Gulf and was honorably discharged with the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer. Kathy retired as a registered nurse after serving for many years for various nursing homes and hospitals. In her earlier years, Kathy found joy in camping and dancing, activities that allowed her to connect with nature and celebrate life. Kathy found great joy in traveling to Africa for missionary work through the Women of Faith group. She had a deep love for all animals, especially cats, and she generously donated to various causes supporting animals in need. She was an avid reader and enjoyed Native American beliefs, reflecting her diverse interests and inquisitive spirit. Kathy passed away on Friday January 24, 2025, at the Copper Trace in Westfield, Indiana.

Kathy is survived by her husband, John Arthur Hershey of Westfield, IN; her sisters, Donna Lennox Hobson and her husband, Kenneth of Zionsville, IN, Yonna Heath and her husband, Jeff of Brooksburg, IN, Yolanda Jo Simmons of Madison, IN and Yvonna "Yo Yo" Tilley and her husband, Andy of Madison, IN; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen Shuler of Vevay, IN, Mary "Cricket" Shuler of Bon Aqua, TN, Jeanne and Bob Hershey of Westfield, IN and Janice and Chuck Bailey of Westfield, IN and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Franklin "Bud" Shuler, died May 26, 1993; her mother, Eileen Mary (Brouse) Shuler, died July 24, 1998 and her brothers, Anthony David "Tony" Shuler, died March 4, 2013 and Martin Douglas "Doug" Shuler, died January 3, 2025.

A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held at a later date.

     Kathy Lynn Shuler is the daughter of Billy Ray Shuler and Betty May Walker.¹ She married Henry August Dudik on 24 October 1981 at Tarrant County, Texas.² She and an unknown person were divorced on 24 August 1992 at Tarrant County, Texas.³

     Kelsie Shuler was born circa 1892 at Indiana.¹ He was the son of Hiram Frankin Shuler and Sarah E. Dorton.¹

     Kimberly Ann Shuler is the daughter of James Weldon Shuler and Genevieve French.¹ She married Richard Arnwine on 16 April 1988 at Sweetwater, Nolan County, Texas.³ She and Richard Arnwine were divorced circa 1994.⁴ She married Kevin Lyons circa 2001.⁴

     Ladusta Sue Shuler is the daughter of Charles Edward Shuler and Sue Ernice Laird.¹ She married David Michael Capps, son of Allen Byron Capps and Elizabeth Ann Hulsey, on 4 June 1981 at Johnson County, Texas.³ She and David Michael Capps were divorced on 10 April 1984 at Tarrant County, Texas.⁴ She married Richard W. Braziel on 26 July 1984 at Tarrant County, Texas.³

     Laura K. Shuler was born on 12 June 1886 at Morgan County, Indiana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Henry C. Shuler and Hannah Lucetta Dow.¹ She married Dr. Chester Demaree M.D. on 29 January 1913 at Marion County, Indiana.² She died on 10 August 1959 at Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, at age 73.¹

     Lawrence Henry Shuler is the son of Ernest Murial Shuler and Henryetta Parrott.¹ He married Brenda Jane Ashton before 1957 at Texas.²

     Lee Shuler was born after 1860 at Page County, Virginia.¹ He was the son of William D. Shuler and Sarah Ann Koontz.¹

     Lenetta Shuler is the daughter of Lawrence Henry Shuler and Brenda Jane Ashton.¹
