     Delbert C. Merida was born on 13 September 1929 at Garrard, Clay County, Kentucky.1 He married Alice L. Hoots, daughter of Willard Hoots and Dezzie Euzell Watson, on 22 December 1973 at Marion County, Indiana.2 He died on 7 October 2001 at Fort Myers, Lee County, Florida, at age 72.1

Delbert C. Merida, 72, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. He was a resident of Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born Sept. 13, 1929, in Garrard, Ky. His parents were William and Ophelia (Oaks) Merida. He married Alice (Hoots) Merida on Dec. 12, 1973. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Brenda Martin of Plainfield and Jacquie Murray of Greenwood; two stepdaughters, Judy Heglund of Beech Grove and Ginny Moberly of Nineveh; a brother, James Merida; a stepson, Jack Bow of Shelbyville; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

He was employed for 26 years as a laborer for Allisons GM Maywood Plant 5, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Fla.

A service will conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery.1

Mrs. Brenda Sue Miller Johnson, age 75 of Allensville, passed away on Wednesday, August 16th at her home of natural causes.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Charles Edward Johnson and one brother Wayne Douglas. She is survived by two sons Richard Nolan Johnson (Mary Ann) of Allensville and Edward Neil Johnson (Sherry) of Sevierville, Tennessee; one brother William Page of Elkton; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation with the Johnson family will be on Friday from 10:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Cook-Webb Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted at 1:00 in the Chapel of the Cook-Webb Funeral Home with Marvin Wayne Ralph officiating. Interment will follow at the Belmont Cemetery in Allensville.1
