Wayne Franklin Shuler also went by the name of Bud.2,3 He was born on 27 December 1921 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.1,2 He was the son of Floyd Basil Shuler and Irene M. McKinney.1 He married Mary Eileen Brouse, daughter of Ralph E. Brouse, on 2 December 1938 at USA.4 He died on 26 May 1993 at Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, at age 71.4

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served as district commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Hanover. He was an Indiana grand treasurer of the Millitary Order of the Cooties and a life member of the American Legion post in Vevay.
Mr. Shuler was past chairman of the Switzerland County Chapter of the American Red Cross and served as Vevay's Santa Claus for many years.
He was a life member of the Vevay Kiwanis Club where he served as past secretary and treasurer.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, Vevay. The Rev. Jeffrey Charlton will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay.
Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion.4

William Shuler Dies at Home
A retired farmer and long time resident of the Paragon community died at his home in Paragon at 6:30 this morning. William Henry Shuler, 82, had been ill for about three years.
The son of Henry and Hannah Lucetta Dow Shuler, he was born in Ashland Township Feb. 19, 1888. His first wife, the former Susie Serena Stierwalt, died in 1954 and he later remarried Laura Isabel Dunigan, who survives.
Mr. Shuler was a member of the Olive Christian Church.
Survivors beside the widow include seven children and five step-children. The children are Mrs. Mildred Jacobs and Mrs. Dorothy Myers of Indianapolis, Mrs. Maxine Riffle of Gosport, Robert of Paragon, John of Missouri, Richard of Unionville and Norman of Martinsville. Step-children are Charles James Dunigan and Herschel Dunigan of Martinsville, Earl Dunigan of Shelbyville, Mrs. Naomi Hale and Mrs Rosy Whitaker of Paragon. Twenty-two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive as does a sister, Mrs. Rosanna Rone of Bloomington.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Neal and Summers Chapel with Rev. Virgil Baugh officiating.
Burial will take place in the Friendship Park Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.6
He died on 16 March 1970 at Paragon, Morgan County, Indiana, at age 82.2
