     Wade Shuler was born circa 1843 at Virginia.¹ He was the son of David Shuler and Polly Garden.^1,2 He died on 23 February 1921 at Marion, Smyth County, Virginia.³

     Walter Shuler was born after 1866 at Page County, Virginia.¹ He was the son of William D. Shuler and Sarah Ann Koontz.¹

     Walter J. Shuler was born circa 1888 at Indiana.¹ He was the son of Hiram Frankin Shuler and Sarah E. Dorton.¹ He married Rosabel Champlin, daughter of George Champlin, on 4 December 1910 at Morgan County, Indiana.²

     Wayne Franklin Shuler also went by the name of Bud.^2,3 He was born on 27 December 1921 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.^1,2 He was the son of Floyd Basil Shuler and Irene M. McKinney.¹ He married Mary Eileen Brouse, daughter of Ralph E. Brouse, on 2 December 1938 at USA.⁴ He died on 26 May 1993 at Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, at age 71.⁴


Wayne Franklin "Bud" Shuler, 71, of Vevay, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison.
A member of the Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay, he worked as a fireman for the Santa Fe Railroad and the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for several years.
Mr. Shuler retire in 1978 after 33 years with the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. where he served as district manager. He worked the past 10 years as the transportation director for the Switzerland County School Corporation.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served as district commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Hanover. He was an Indiana grand treasurer of the Millitary Order of the Cooties and a life member of the American Legion post in Vevay.
Mr. Shuler was past chairman of the Switzerland County Chapter of the American Red Cross and served as Vevay's Santa Claus for many years.
He was a life member of the Vevay Kiwanis Club where he served as past secretary and treasurer.
Born Dec. 27, 1921 in Indianapolis. he was a son of Floyd Basil Shuler and Irene McKinney Shuler. He married Eileen Brouse on Dec. 2, 1938, and she survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Tony Shuler, Seymore; and Doug Shuler, Brooksburg; Foster son, Donnie Bruce, El Paso, Texas; five daughters, Kathy Keedle, Indianapolis; Donna Lennox, Newburg; Yonna Heath and Yo Yo Tilley, both of Brooksburg; and Jo Simmons, Virginia Beach, VA; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, Vevay. The Rev. Jeffrey Charlton will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home, Vevay.
Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion.⁴

     William Archie Shuler was born on 13 October 1885 at Reno County, Kansas.¹ He was the son of Jacob O. Shuler and Annie Cook.¹

     William D. Shuler was born circa 1833 at Page County, Virginia.¹ He was the son of George N. Shuler and Tabitha Dovel.¹ He married Sarah Ann Koontz, daughter of David Koontz and Elizabeth Unknown, on 9 August 1855 at Page County, Virginia.²

     William Henry Shuler was born on 1 October 1863 at Morgan County, Indiana.¹ He was the son of George Shuler and Sarah Ratts.^1,2 He died on 14 May 1864 at Morgan County, Indiana.¹

     William Henry Shuler was born on 19 February 1888 at Morgan County, Indiana.^1,3,2 He was the son of Henry C. Shuler and Hannah Lucetta Dow.^1,2 He married Susie Serena Stierwalt, daughter of Adam T. Stierwalt and Emma D. Stewart, on 1 September 1911 at Indiana.^4,5

William Shuler Dies at Home

A retired farmer and long time resident of the Paragon community died at his home in Paragon at 6:30 this morning. William Henry Shuler, 82, had been ill for about three years.
The son of Henry and Hannah Lucetta Dow Shuler, he was born in Ashland Township Feb. 19, 1888. His first wife, the former Susie Serena Stierwalt, died in 1954 and he later remarried Laura Isabel Dunigan, who survives.
Mr. Shuler was a member of the Olive Christian Church.
Survivors beside the widow include seven children and five step-children. The children are Mrs. Mildred Jacobs and Mrs. Dorothy Myers of Indianapolis, Mrs. Maxine Riffle of Gosport, Robert of Paragon, John of Missouri, Richard of Unionville and Norman of Martinsville. Step-children are Charles James Dunigan and Herschel Dunigan of Martinsville, Earl Dunigan of Shelbyville, Mrs. Naomi Hale and Mrs Rosy Whitaker of Paragon. Twenty-two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive as does a sister, Mrs. Rosanna Rone of Bloomington.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Neal and Summers Chapel with Rev. Virgil Baugh officiating.
Burial will take place in the Friendship Park Cemetery and friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.⁶

He died on 16 March 1970 at Paragon, Morgan County, Indiana, at age 82.²
