     John Foster Witt was born on 27 June 1863 at Three Springs, Warren County, Kentucky.4 He married Paralee London, daughter of James Martin London and Sarah Josephine Spencer, on 17 April 1890 at Denton County, Texas.1 He died on 27 March 1937 at Wheeler County, Texas, at age 73.4
FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD FOR J. F WITT


WHEELER, March 29 - Funeral services were held here this afternoon for J. F. Witt, 73, Wheeler County Pioneer, who died at his farm home near here Saturday morning after several months' illness. Rev. C. C. Merritt, pastor of the Church of Christ, conducted the services.
Mr. Witt was born June 27, 1863 at Three Springs, Ky., and came to Texas at the age of 19 years. He was married to Paralee London in 1889. They moved to Wheeler county in 1900 and filed on land here.
He is survived by his widow and three sons and six daughters. They are Mrs. Eugenia Chandler, Endee, N. M; Mrs. Sarah Smith, Amarillo; C. B.Witt. Wheeler; G. S. Witt, Lefors; Miss Lita Witt, Dallas; Mrs. Bonnie Ging, Mrs. Stella Carver and Mrs. Margaret Arnett, all of Amarillo, and Dr. John L. Witt, Groom. A nephew, Dr. J. V. London of White Deer, who was raised in the Witt home, also survives. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrrs. Julia Wooten, Bowling Green, Ky., and Mrs. Mattie Harper, Denton; and one brother, E. J. Witt, Amarillo; and eighteen grandchildren.
Pall bearers were W. L. Williams, Zack Coleman, G. W. Porter, W. M. Hampton, Willard Ingram, Fred Farmer and Dick Craig.4
