     Jo E. Rogers married Bruce Alan Milliken, son of Russell Franklin Milliken Jr. and Nelda Jo York, on 28 October 1978 at Ward County, Texas.¹ She and Bruce Alan Milliken were divorced on 5 December 1979 at Midland, Midland County, Texas.²

     Joseph Rogers married Addie Marie Jordan, daughter of Sylvenus Jordan and Charlotte Gibson, on 24 March 1881 at USA.¹

     Lennie Mae Rogers also went by the name of Peggy.² She was born on 14 August 1922 at Douglas, Smith County, Texas.² She married Joseph Louis Cook Sr. on 5 November 1939 at Sebastian, Willacy County, Texas.² She died on 11 August 2001 at Odessa, Ector County, Texas, at age 78.²

ODESSA - "Peggy" Lennie Mae Cook, 78, quietly passed from this life and went home to be with her Lord on Aug. 11, 2001. She was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Douglas and married Joseph Louis Cook on Nov. 5, 1939 in Sebastian.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Aug. 14, 2001. at Tanglewood Church of Christ with Joe Cross and Roy Smalling officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Peggy was a dedicated Christian wife and mother who loved bringing people to Christ. In her early years, Paggy worked as a cashierfor the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Beaumont. She loved help others in need. Peggy was an avid gardner who enjoyed raising vegetables and fruit and then canning it or giving it away to others. Even in the last years of her life, she planted trees and a garden. Peggy had friends all over the state of Texas and the United States. Her door was always open not only to family and friends, but to anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Betty Rogers; her loving husband and best friend, Joseph Louis Cook; three brothers; and a sister.
Left behind to cherish her memoriesare her four children, Ernest Cook and his wife Sue of Beaumont, Joe L. Cook and his wife Marsha of Odessa, Dwight Cook and his wife Debbie of Odessa and Judy Day and her husband Lynn of Austin; her sister, Dorothy Summa and her husband David of Haringen; her brother, Edgar Rogers and his wife Ethel of Jasper; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other extended family.
Active pallbearers will be Todd Cook, Lee Cook, Landon Cook, Peter Cook, Michael Mancias and Eric Steffens. Honorary pallbeares will be Stan Weber, Don Miller and Bill Bowden.
May her religious beliefs and good deeds remain in our lives always.

     Mary Louise Rogers was born on 6 April 1914 at Corinth, Logan County, Kentucky.^2,3 She was the daughter of Enlow Rogers and Margaret Ann Young.² She married Charles William Milliken, son of Floyd Neely Milliken and Martha Polk Gilbert, on 25 December 1936 at Kentucky.^1,2 She died on 30 July 1996 at Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky, at age 82.^4,5

Mary Louise Rogers Milliken, 82, of Franklin, died July 30, 1996, at Franklin-Simpson Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Aug. 2 at Crafton Funeral Home. The Rev. David Hale officiated. Burial followed at Sulpher Spring Cemetery.
Ms. Milliken was a native of Logan County, a daughter of the late Enlow and Margaret Young Rogers and the widow of William Milliken.
Survivors include one sister, Bess Summers of Russelville; three brothers, Paul and Roy Rogers, both of Russelville, and Dr. Robert Rogers, of Starkville, Miss.
Franklin survivors include a daughterin-law, Bessie Turner Milliken; one granddaughter, Myra Milliken; and one grandson, Martin Milliken.⁵

     R.M. Rogers married Alma L. Milliken, daughter of Harvey Arthur Milliken Sr. and Ella Blanche Higginbotham, before 1937.

     John C. Romick was born circa 1888 at Buckingham, Tama County, Iowa.^2,3 He married Edith M. Jones on 26 May 1917 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York.^4,3

     Marie Louise Romick was born on 21 February 1918 at Seattle, King County, Washington.¹ She was the daughter of John C. Romick and Edith M. Jones.^2,3 She married Charles Lyle Beam on 6 December 1941 at Washington.² She died on 7 October 2020 at Port Angeles, Clallam County, Washington, at age 102.¹

Marie Louise Beam passed away in her Port Angeles home on October 7, 2020. She was born in Seattle, Washington, on February 21, 1918, the only child of John C and Edith M. Romick. She moved to Port Angeles in 1921 when her father was hired to work as a steam engine engineer at a local mill. Because married women were not allowed to teach in town, her mother had a long teaching career at Dry Creek School. Their first home in Port Angeles was a converted barn at 7th and B Streets.

She credited her parents for her life-long love of the mountains and the out-of-doors. As she was growing up they visited many areas of the peninsula, their favorite vacation spot being Olympic Hot Springs. As a small girl she hiked the 10.5 mile trail to the hot springs and also enjoyed hiking in the surrounding area. With the help of her grandson Bob, she hiked to the hot springs for the last time at age ninety seven Humes Ranch was another favorite destination along with Hurricane Hill.

Marie Louise attended Lincoln School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1935. She enrolled at the University of Washington, where she was on the Girls' Rifle team during her first two years. She was chosen Novice Champion her first year. She graduated from the University School of Nursing, Harborview Division in June 1941. Her first employment was as an operating room nurse at Harborview Hospital.

On December 6, 1941, Marie Louise married Port Angeles native Charles L. Beam. At the time he was a sergeant in the local National Guard unit, on active duty at Battery A at Fort Worden. After WW II they made their home in Port Angeles. In celebration of their 5Oth wedding anniversary, they traveled to Hawaii and on December 7, 1991, were passengers aboard the first cruise ship allowed to enter Pearl Harbor. He passed away in July of 1998.

While raising their family, Marie Louise was a den mother as well as a Blue Bird/Campfire Girl leader. She worked part time as a private duty nurse or staff relief nurse at both hospitals that preceded Olympic Memorial Hospital, and she did night relief duty at Olympic Memorial for 10 years. She retired in 1983 after 16 years as a public health nurse for the Clallam County Health Department.

Marie Louise and Chuck shared their love of the outdoors with their four children camping, backpacking and day hiking in the area as well as salmon fishing and spending time at the family cabin at Lake Crescent. They were members of the first climbing class that was offered by Peninsula College in 1964. With that group they climbed The Brothers, Mt. Baker and Mt. Olympus. Along with three family members, she reached the top of Mt. Edgecumbe near Sitka, Alaska, when she was eighty six.

Not long after Marie Louise retired, her husband became disabled and she helped him with the management of his small herd of beef cattle. The crowning achievement of that venture came when she successfully pulled a calf that was being born back feet first.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles for over 70 years and cherished her church family as well as her own. For many years she served as financial secretary.

As a turn of the century Mariners fan, she enjoyed attending Mariner Spring Training 13 times, most recently in 2018 to celebrate her 100th birthday. She also enjoyed reading, completing a daily crossword puzzle, traveling, working in her garden and keeping in touch with family, friends and neighbors. Her mind remained sharp to her final day. She was fond of saying that every day had its blessings. Her wit and her wisdom along with the stories she shared from her childhood will be missed by many.

She is survived by twin sons John (Janice) Beam of Bothell, Washington and James (DarLyne) Beam of Carlsborg and daughters Janet (Arthur) Estes of Port Angeles and Nancy (John) Palm of Vancouver, Washington as well as eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
