     Durward E. Jordan was born on 11 May 1899 at Grand Forks County, North Dakota.2,1 He was the son of Archer J. Jordan and Elizabeth Anne Ochs. He married Edith Gwen Jones, daughter of David Arthur Jones and Edith Wynn Llewellyn, after 1920. He appeared on the census of 19 April 1930 in the household of Archer J. Jordan at Larimore Township, Grand Forks County, North Dakota.3 He died on 11 April 1991 at age 91.1

He married Mary Sue McDaniel, daughter of M. C. McDaniel, on 1 July 1961 at Itasca County, Minnesota.3 He died on 2 March 1965 at Itasca County, Minnesota, at age 37.1

Eleazer Jordan

M, b. circa 1786, d. 15 August 1860
     The origin of the name Eleazer (el ee AY zar) is Hebrew for "God is my help."1 He is the verified patriarch of the Jordan family in this research. His parents and siblings are unknown. The researcher has included a Benjamin as his possible brother, but it has not been proven (yet).

Little is known about Eleazer, other than he was born in New Hampshire. It is unknown if he is related to Revolutionary War veteran, Eleazer Jordan. It is also not known if "our" Eleazer came from the Cheshire County area of New Hampshire where the Jordans are numerous.

He was born circa 1786 at New Hampshire. He was the son of Unknown Jordan. He married Hannah Unknown circa 1825. He and Hannah Unknown appeared on the census of 1830 at Hadley, Saratoga County, New York, with three additional persons in the household. These people included a woman aged 20-29 (Fanny), a girl under 5 (Celestia), and a boy under 5 (John).2 He appeared on the census of 1840 at Moriah, Essex County, New York, with seven additional persons in the household. These people included a woman aged 30-39 (Fanny), a girl 10-14 (unknown), a girl 5-9 (Mary), a boy 10-14 (John), a boy 5-9 (Sylvenus), and two boys under 5 (James & unknown).3 He and Fanny Unknown appeared on the census of 26 July 1850 at Moriah, Essex County, New York.4 He appeared on the census of 11 June 1855 in the household of John H. Jordan at Moriah, Essex County, New York.5 He appeared on the census of 12 June 1860 at North Hudson, Essex County, New York. He and Carlos were living in the household of the John L. DeLong family and employed as laborers.6 He appeared on the census of 12 June 1860 in the household of John Lindsey DeLong and Celestia L. Jordan at North Hudson, Essex County, New York.7 He died on 15 August 1860 at Essex County, New York. He was buried after 15 August 1860 at Moriah, Essex County, New York; Transcribed as JORDON.8
