She appeared on the census of 13 April 1940 in the household of Frank Russell Bennett Sr. and Juanita Brown at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.1 She married James Alton Hunter Jr., son of James Alton Hunter Sr. and Reta Mae Shuler, circa 1949. She died on 8 June 2001 at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, at age 76.2

Hunter Virginia Lee, Born July 16, 1924, in Dallas, Tx. and passed away June 8, 2001, at the age of 76. Survivors include her husband James A. Hunter: daughter: Celia M. Ruggerio & husband, James; sons Mark D. & Paul B. Hunter; brother: Dr. F. Russell Bennet; grandchildren: Elise & Tony Ruggerio. Funeral services 11:30 A. M. Tuesday, June 12,2001, in the Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Internment, Grove Hill Memoral Park. Family will recieve friends 6-8 P.M. Monday, June 11, 2001 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.3 She was buried after 8 June 2001 at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.4
