     Audry Laverne Mitchell was born on 23 July 1929 at Fairfield, Freestone County, Texas.1,3 She was the daughter of Clarence Joseph Mitchell and Mary Velma Richardson.1,4,5 She appeared on the census of 24 April 1930 in the household of Clarence Joseph Mitchell and Mary Velma Mitchell at Freestone County, Texas.1 She appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 in the household of Clarence Joseph Mitchell and Mary Velma Richardson at Freestone County, Texas.2 She married C.L. Mullen on 28 January 1948 at USA.6 She died on 10 May 2008 at Texas at age 78.7,3 She was buried on 13 May 2008 at Freestone County, Texas.8 Funeral services were held this week for Audrey LaVerne Mullen, 78, of Fairfield who died Saturday, May 10. Mrs. Mullen was born in Fairfield on July 23, 1929 to Clarence and Velma Mitchell.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Calvary Baptist CHurch with Terry Skinner officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marvin Mullen, Curtis Red, Houston Flowers, Dennis Lane, Clois Mullen, Elton Moore, Tommy Miller and Glendale Black.
Mrs. Mullen is survived by her children David Mullen and friend Carole Carroll of Arlington, Diana Chambliss and husband Jay of Flower Mound, and Donald Mullen and wife LaDonna of Fairfield; grandchildren Leslie Barker, Matt Mullen and wife Stephanie, Kirk Mullen, Angela Rogers, Jermey Rogers and wife Brandi, Bill Chambliss and wife Cindi, Christie Talamantez, Heath Mullen and wife Amber, Amanda Mullen, Nic King and wife Mary and Kevin King; great grandchildren Cody, Caitlynn, Michael and Nicholas Mullen, Mackenzie Rogers, Andrea, Johnny, Rebkkah and Lillian Chambliss, Dylan Peyton, Justin Talamantez, Cody Bailey, Taylor and Paige Mullen; brother Wayne Mitchell and wife Jeanette of Amarillo; and sister Christine Lewis of Venus. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband C.L. Mullen.
Arrangements were made by Capps Funeral Home of Fairfield.3

Clarence Joseph Mitchell1

     Clarence Joseph Mitchell was born on 4 May 1903 at Oklahoma Territory.1 He married Mary Velma Richardson, daughter of Newell Luther Richardson Sr. and Nannie Lula Mattox, on 14 January 1928 at Texas.1 He and Mary Velma Mitchell appeared on the census of 24 April 1930 at Freestone County, Texas.2 He and Mary Velma Richardson appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at Freestone County, Texas.3 He died on 11 January 1953 at Amarillo, Potter County, Texas, at age 49.1 Clarence Joseph Mitchell, 49, died in an Amarillo hospital Sunday, January 11, after a short illiness. Funeral services were held at Antioch at 4:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. H.L McKissack officiated. Burial followed in Antioch cemetery.
Pallbearers were Newburn Richardson, Bowie Mullen, Henry Minchew, Durbin Ward, Clifton Anderson and Homer Koonce.
Mr. Mitchell was born May 4, 1903, in Oklahoma. He was married January 14, 1928, to the late Velma Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs N.L. Richardson, Sr. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. A.R. Garrett: two brothers, John and Lyle, all of California, three children, Mrs. C.L. Mullen, Fairfield; Christine and Wayne Mitchell, of Amarillo.1
