     Chester Arthur Vise married Ollie Jo Lentz before 1920. He died on 26 April 1949 at Wichita Falls, Wichita, Texas.³

     Clara Jo Vise was born on 23 June 1921 at Paris, Lamar County, Texas.^1,2 She was the daughter of Chester Arthur Vise and Ollie Jo Lentz.¹ She married William J. Dillard on 18 November 1938 at Bryan County, Oklahoma.³ She died on 15 June 2017 at Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, at age 95.¹


Dillard, Clara “Jo”, of Dallas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the age of 95. Jo is survived by 3 sons, David Dillard, Bill Dillard, Jr., and Ron Dillard; three daughters, Darlyn Dillard, Joan Camacho and Patricia Dillard; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Vise, her husband, William “Bill” Dillard, her daughter, Anne Dillard and 7 siblings. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 11am-1pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, with a private burial to follow the visitation.¹

     Pauline Vogel was born on 28 May 1919 at USA.^1,2 She married Raymond Fred Jordan, son of Frederick F. Jordan and Rose M. Hurlburt, in 1942 at New Jersey.¹ She died on 3 July 1989 at USA at age 70.^1,2

     Hedvig Mary Von Mayrhauser was born on 13 August 1923 at Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein.^1,2 She married Rowland Gibson Hazard Sturges, son of Rush Sturges and Elizabeth Hazard, in July 1943 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.¹ She died on 13 July 2007 at Concord, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 83.²

Hedvig (von Mayrhauser) Sturges, 83, died peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by her three children on the evening of Friday, July 13. She was the beloved wife of Rowland G.H. Sturges, also of Concord.

Born in Kiel, Germany in 1923, Hedvig grew up in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and finally Italy, where she attended convent schools before emigrating with her family to the United States in 1939. Hedvig's family settled in her mother's hometown of Kansas City, MO, where she graduated from the Barstow School. Hedvig attended the University of Missouri until she met Rowland Sturges of Providence RI, who had been posted to Kansas City for wartime service. After a whirlwind six-week courtship, Hedvig and Rowland were married.

They settled in Cambridge in 1947 and remained Cambridge residents until moving to Concord in 2003.

In 1949 Hedvig joined the board of The Window Shop, a Cambridge-based European bakery and gift shop that provided scholarship funds for refugees. The Treasurer of the Window Shop for many years, Hedvig was also a frequent volunteer in parent activities at Shady Hill School and Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, the primary schools that her children attended.

In 1982 Hedvig became the rental agent for the Cambridge Boat Club. Hedvig stewarded operations at the Boat Club until her retirement at age 80, when the members held a ceremony and named a four-man scull in her honor. Hedvig also handled financial matters for the Cambridge Historical Society and for numerous private clients. She was a member of the Mother's Club and the Quaestus investment club.

Hedvig leaves her devoted children Alice Steinman and her husband Ira, of Mill Valley, CA, Howard Sturges and his wife Priscilla of Concord and Jeffrey Sturges of Santa Monica, CA; also grandchildren Timnah Steinman of Oakland, CA and Joshua Steinman and wife Paige of San Francisco, CA, and Polly and Phoebe Sturges of Concord.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Parish in Concord, 20 Lexington Road, Concord Center.

Private burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Community Music Center of Boston, 34 Warren Avenue, Boston MA 02116.

     Cora Ellen Waddell was born in March 1873 at Lee County, Virginia.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of C. Waddell and Mary Elizabeth Williver.⁴ She married Joseph Stevens Shuler, son of Steve Shuler and Mattie Allen, on 8 November 1888 at Lee County, Virginia.⁴ She died on 6 March 1944 at Bonham, Fannin County, Texas.^5,6

Funeral Services Held Today For Mrs. Cora Shuler

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Ellen Shuler, 69, who died at her home here at 2:45 p. m. Monday, were held at 4 p. m. today from Mikel-Brown Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. I. Gregory officiating. Burial following in Willow Wild cemetery.
Mrs. Shuler was born in Virginia but had resided in Texas many years.
Survivors are her husband, J. S. Shuler; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Walker, Bonham; Mrs. M. F. Lee, Blanchard, Okla., Miss Agnes Shu;er, Bonham; four sons, Ray and Lowell Shuler, Bonham; Jim Shuler, Stafford, Kans; Fred Shuler, Dallas.
Pallbearers were Dewey McKelva, Deets Dorough, Ernest Hickfang, Kurt Gopfforth, Herman Duncan, and True Adams.⁷

     Cora Mary Ann Wade married Robert Franklin Kemper.¹

     Beulah Wadsworth married Charles Barttlet before 1968.
