     Dulin Hassell Taylor was born on 11 July 1914 at Tennessee.^1,3 He was the son of Henry Dulin Taylor and Vera Hassell.⁴ He was a mechanic at the time of his marriage in December 1934.⁴ He married Mallie L. Jones, daughter of M. B. Jones and Sherdian Ramsey, on 29 December 1934 at Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky.⁴ He died on 28 September 2003 at USA at age 89.³

     Fred Alexander Taylor was born circa 1866.¹ He married Rosy Belle Harrington, daughter of William Hale Harrington and Matilda Hall, before 1886 at USA.¹ He died circa 1917.¹

     Henry Dulin Taylor was born on 12 June 1864 at USA.² He married Vera Hassell before 1913 at USA. He died on 21 October 1955 at Sumner County, Tennessee, at age 91.²

     Jackie L. Taylor is the son of Dulin Hassell Taylor and Mallie L. Jones.¹

     Joe Dulin Taylor was born on 17 April 1937 at South Tunnel, Sumner County, Tennessee.² He was the son of Dulin Hassell Taylor and Mallie L. Jones.³ He married Sharry Bea Boles, daughter of Harry Otto Boles and Gertrude V. Bushnell, on 10 November 1955 at USA.¹ He died on 26 September 2023 at Broken Arrow, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, at age 86.²

Rev. Joe Dulin Taylor, 86, passed away September 26, 2023, at his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, surrounded by his wife and four children.


Born April 17, 1937, in South Tunnel, Tennessee, Joe was the son of Dulin and Mallie (Jones) Taylor. He spent his formative years in Indianapolis, Indiana, where his family had moved in search of opportunity after World War 2.


In 1955, Joe married Sharry and together they raised four children, Sheryl, Sindy, Joe Jr., and Debi.Joe and Sharry gave their lives to Jesus in 1960, and shortly after, Joe felt the call to ministry and enrolled at the Institute for Christian Service at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated in 1963 and was later ordained.Joe served congregations in Indiana, Oklahoma, and Colorado, and, as a missionary, planted two churches in Dominica.


Through a life of preaching and teaching about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Joe influenced many lives.



He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Dick K Taylor.Surviving family include Joe's sister Judith Canter and her husband Tom of Littleton, CO; his brother Jack L Taylor and his wife Diane of Indianapolis, IN; his wife, Sharry (Boles) Taylor of the home; his children: Sheryl Knutson and her husband Cary of Tulsa, OK, Sindy Minor of St Charles, MO, Debi Hackler and her husband Mark of Richmond, TX, and Joe Taylor, Jr., and his wife Katie of Tulsa, OK; as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.A Celebration of Life service for Joe will be held October 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at New Heights Baptist Church, 8611 E 21st St, Tulsa, OK 74129.²

     Joe Dulin Taylor Jr. is the son of Joe Dulin Taylor and Sharry Bea Boles.¹

     Judith Ann Taylor is the daughter of Dulin Hassell Taylor and Mallie L. Jones.¹ She married Thomas Charles Canter, son of Thomas T. Canter, on 2 October 1965 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.³

     Lloyd L. Taylor married Estelle Elizabeth St. Clair, daughter of Hughie Clinton St. Clair and Clara Lee Lewis, on 29 April 1927 at McLennan County, Texas.¹

     Lucretia E. Taylor married William Wilcox Warren before 1805 at USA. She died on 10 April 1815.

     Mattie Alice Taylor was born on 2 May 1876 at Covington, Hill County, Texas.² She was the daughter of Sebron Marion Taylor and Melinda Jane Black.² She married John Arthur Richardson, son of John Whitney Richardson and Mary Louise Cobbs, on 24 October 1906 at Covington, Hill County, Texas.¹ She died on 11 February 1949 at Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas, at age 72.^2,3 She was buried on 12 February 1949 at Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas.²
