     Mary Virginia Pierce was also known as Jennye.1,2 She was born on 23 June 1928 at Paris, Henry County, Tennessee.1 She was the daughter of William Bryant Pierce and Mary Annie Hooper.3 She married Frank Russell, Jr. Bennett, son of Frank Russell Bennett Sr. and Juanita Brown, on 7 June 1957 at Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.1,3 She died on 27 December 2009 at Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, at age 81.1

BENNETT, MARY VIRGINIA (JENNYE), 82, beloved wife and mother, passed away early Sunday morning, December 27, 2009.

Born Mary Virginia Pierce on June 23, 1928, in Paris TN, she was a graduate of Louisville Girls High and Kindergarten teacher for Emory University in Atlanta, GA, was a 33 year member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, deacon, W. M. U. President, Sunday School teacher, Helping Hands S. S. Class member and Red Cross volunteer.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Russell Bennett Jr; her daughters: Beth Layne Bennett, Lorrie Ann Bennett and Keli Rae Walbert (Tim): brother, Andrew Pierce; and six grandchildren. Visitation at Ratterman Funeral Home, Lexington Road, Wednesday, December 30, 2009, noon- 5 p.m. followed by a memorial service at Saint Matthews Baptist Church at 7 p.m.

Family requests that donations be made to world missions through St. Matthews Baptist Church.

     William Bryant Pierce was born on 8 July 1896 at Henry County, Tennessee, Bryant's birth year is listed as 1899 on his WWI draft registration card, 1897 on his WWII draft registration card and delayed birth certificate (from 1941) and on the Find-A-Grave website. The 1900 and 1910 census would have his birth year as 1896 as well as his obituary.2,3,4 He married Mary Annie Hooper on 7 July 1923 at Henry County, Tennessee.5 He married Pauline Huggins on 1 May 1937 at Henry County, Tennessee.6 He died on 16 January 1981 at Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, at age 84.2
