Lois Wright, 83, of Colorado City, formerly of Sand Springs died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Mitchell County Hospital in Colorado City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Trinity Memorial Park.
She was born March 16, 1931, at Belton, Texas to Bertha Ethel and William Walter Hinds. She grew up at Belton. She married Luther P. “Luke” Wright, November 18, 1949, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1986. She lived all of her adult life in Howard County until moving to Lake Champion, July 4, 1988. She was a licensed Journeyman meat cutter. She worked in the meat market and the deli at Newsom’s Grocery for a number of years. She was especially known for her pies. She later worked for Safeway and also at Sweetwater and other area grocery stores and meat markets. She was a Baptist.
She is survived by one son: Colton Wright and his wife Judy of Ecuador; one daughter: Bridget Milliken and her husband Mark of Odessa; her partner: Paul Stuteville of Colorado City and his daughter: Paula Stuteville of Big Spring; five grandchildren: Jason Milliken and his wife Lisa of Elgin, Latisha Perry and her husband Chris of Coahoma, Nicole Jones and her husband Jay of Abilene, Cassi Walden and her husband Ty of San Angelo, and Chase Wright of Abilene; three great grandchildren: Nathan Jones of Abilene, Dallas Perry of Coahoma, and Kinzi Walden of San Angelo.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Milliken, Chris Perry, Jay Jones, Ty Walden, Charles Angel, Randy Merket, Joey Grant, and Nathan Jones.
The family suggests memorials to a memorial account in Lois’s memory at Citizens Federal Credit Union or other favorite charity.
