     Etta Marie Gregory was born on 8 February 1934 at Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky.1,2 She was the daughter of Henderson Gregory and Mattie Philpot.2 She married John David Sandlin Sr. in 1950.2 She died on 7 December 2022 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, at age 88.2

Etta Marie Sandlin

88, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Etta was born February 8, 1934 in Manchester, Kentucky the daughter of the late Henderson and Mattie Gregory.

Etta was a homemaker raising their 9 children and was also a member of Charity Church.

Etta is survived by her husband of 72 years: John D. Sandlin, Sr., children: Oscar (Linda), Billy Joe (Jan), Howard (Susan), Timothy (Kristy) and John D. (Sybil) Sandlin, Jr., Nellie (David) McLerran, Loraine Hegenbart, Judy (Larry) Ackley and Rosetta Sandlin, 24 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren and sisters: Nellie Miller, Loraine Bess and Ruth Ann Harrison. She preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Oscar, Sam, Millard, Herbert, Thorton, Armond, sisters: Lizzy, Kate and Minnie, granddaughter: Holli, great grandson: William and a son-in-law: Patrick Noel Hegenbart

Visitation for Etta will be Sunday, December 11, from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at Family Funeral Care. Funeral services will on Monday, December 12, at 11:00 am also in the funeral home.

Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery.
