VERGENNES, VT. - Richard Rene Poquette, 90, passed away Monday, December 15th 2014 at the Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury, Vt.
He was born on September 7th 1924, in Alburgh, Vt., the son of Richard Joseph and Emela Marie (Rivais) Poquette.
He married Elizabeth "Betty" Ruth Jordan on June 30th 1946 in Vergennes, Vermont.
They resided together on 33 Mountain View Lane in Vergennes, Vt.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes, Vt., 60 year charter member of Vergennes Lions Club, American Legion Post #14 in Vergennes, Vt., and VFW in Middlebury, Vt.
His most prized possession was his family, especially his grandkids. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan.
He served in the US Navy during W.W.II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23rd 2014 at St. Peter's Church in Vergennes.3
