Mindy Diane Allison Rodriguez, 39, of Midland went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ as He healed her body of cancer on October 4, 2011. With her family by her side Mindy courageously fought cancer for ten years with an angelic smile on her face and always putting others needs before her own. Her courage and strength was an inspiration for everyone she came in contact with especially her daughters who in honor of their mother are pursuing careers in nursing. Mindy was born on March 3, 1972 at 3:33 P.M. in Grand Prairie Texas to Preston Duane and Roberta Allison. The family moved to Midland Texas in 1983 and Mindy attended Greenwood schools. She met and fell in love with Israel Rodriguez just months shy of her seventeenth birthday, and they began their lives together soon after. The newly wed couple established a successful tile and granite business, with Mindy overseeing the paperwork. However, her duties in the office and later her illness, never overshadowed her love and devotion to her children. She volunteered at the children's schools, including serving as PTA President at Burnet Elementary. Some of the many joys of her life were accompanying her daughters during their participation in cheer and dance competitions, and never missing her son's baseball games, in or out of town. Looking forward to the day they join her in heaven, Mindy leaves behind her loving husband of 22 years, Israel Rodriguez; daughters, Lacey Diane Rodriguez, and Kylie DeAnn Rodriguez; son, Jeran Israel Rodriguez, all of the home; her mother, Roberta Ann and husband, Robert Wilson Riley of Midland; brother, Corey Zane Allison of Denton; step-brothers, Rob Riley of Shamrock and Steven Riley of Amarillo; her mother-in-law, Lupe Rodriguez of Midland, and numerous family members and friends. In heaven she will be rejoined with her dad Preston Duane Allison; her maternal grandparents, Rex and Ernestine Hammack; her paternal grandparents Ozro and Vaurine Allison; and her uncle Roland Dale Hammack. A Rosary will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community National Bank, Mindy Rodriguez account number 10252956; Hospice of Midland; or a charity of your choice . The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Shelton Viney, Dr. David Watkins, Texas Oncology nurses and staff, Midland Memorial Hospital 4th floor Oncology nurses, Hospice of Midland, Midland Christian School, and family and friends who showed their compassion and love for Mindy and her family.
