Robert Hunter, age 59, of Bogata, dies Thursday, May 5 at 11:50 p.m. in Red River General Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Posey officiating. Burial was in Bogata Cemetery by Bogata Funeral Home.
He was born August 25, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Walter and Jessie Lee Lunsford Hunter. He is survived by his mother of Bogata; two brothers, John Wesley Hunter of Alvarado and Ross Howard Hunter of Winnsboro; five sisters, Peggy Strain of Bogata, Shirley Kennedy of Elk City, OK, Josie Carrington of Paris, Virginia Geary of Pittsburg, Wilma Carrington of Ft. Worth and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1978 and a brother and sister, Donald Autrey Hunter and Linda Sue Hunter.
Pallbearers were Charlie Lewis, Donovan Strain, Bill Buckman, Morris Foster, Maymond Melton and Jackie Morris.¹

     Ross Allen Hunter is the son of Ross Howard Hunter and Johnnie Gladine Simpson.¹

     Ross Howard Hunter also went by the name of Rusty.² He was born on 8 June 1934 at Titus County, Texas.^1,3 He was the son of Walter Louis Hunter and Jessie Lee Lunsford.¹ He married Johnnie Gladine Simpson on 4 June 1954 at Texas.⁴ He and Johnnie Gladine Simpson were divorced on 5 June 1991 at Wood County, Texas.⁴ He married Dorothy Imogene Taylor on 22 November 1993 at Wood County, Texas.⁵ He died on 24 August 2014 at Mineola, Wood County, Texas, at age 80.²

Mr. Ross H. ”Rusty” Hunter, age 80, of Mineola, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his home in Mineola. Ross was born in Titus County near Cookville on June 8, 1934 to the late Walter and Jessie Hunter. He was a former business owner & cattle rancher and spent his most recent years tending to his neighbors and their needs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Hunter, a beloved son, Michael Wayne Hunter, two brothers, Robert Lewis Hunter and Donald Hunter, and a sister, Linda Sue Hunter.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Johnnie Hunter, sons, Ross A. Hunter and wife, Becca, Bobby Hunter and wife, Karen, all of Winnsboro, son, David Hunter and wife, Kelley, of Windsor, Ca., and daughter, Linda Hunter Finney and husband, David, and daughter-in-law, Vickie Monday and husband, David, also of Winnsboro; brother, John Wesley Hunter and wife, Sallie, of Alvarado, sisters, Shirley Kennedy and husband, Marvin, of Burleson, Josie Carrington and husband, Dee, of Paris, Wilma Lee Giles and husband, Worden, of Burleson, Peggy Strain and husband, Donnie, of Bogota, and Virginia Gwilt and husband, Bob, of Abilene; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and special caretaker, Madonna Hall of Mineola.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Lee Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Spence officiating.²

     Sanore Hunter was born on 19 April 1879 at Yell County, Arkansas.¹ She was the daughter of James L. Hunter and Malissa Adeline Brashear.¹

     Sarah E. Hunter was born circa 1849 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas M. Hunter Jr. and Sarah Ann Godsey.¹ She married Samuel S. Barrett on 17 October 1865 at Meigs County, Tennessee.² She died on 1 July 1926 at Cedar, Scott County, Arkansas.³

     Selitha Hunter was born circa 1848 at Meigs County, Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of John Hunter and Roena Moore.¹

     Shirley Ann Hunter was born on 9 September 1938 at Titus County, Texas.^1,2 She was the daughter of Walter Louis Hunter and Jessie Lee Lunsford.¹ She married Bobby Eugene Gage before 1956 at USA. She died on 30 December 2020 at Johnson County, Texas, at age 82.³

Shirley Ann Kennedy, 82, of Burleson, Texas passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

Shirley was born September 9, 1938 in Mount Pleasant to Walter and Jessie Hunter. She married and had four daughters. She was a devoted mother and worked hard to provide everything her family needed. After her daughters grew up, she remarried and became a successful saleswoman for Home Interiors. She even won four crowns for Top Sales of the Year.

In her spare time, Shirley enjoyed scrapbooking, dancing, and singing. But her main passion in life was her family. She was the glue that held everyone together. Her laugh, smile, and unconditional love will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jessie Hunter; daughter, Dianne Pallett; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Survivors: husband, Marvin Kennedy; daughters, Pamela Tomlinson, Paula Archer, and Susan Cowley; bonus children, Mark Kennedy and wife, Angie, and Helen Kennedy; grandchildren, April Trammell, Tanya Archer, Amy Pallett, Alisha Lemons, Michelle Cowley, Alex Kennedy, Danielle Kennedy, and Declan Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Jordan Walker, Jaxon Trammell, and Emily Dianne Pallett; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and a beloved dog named Lilly.
