     James Autry Hunter was born on 31 October 1917 at Titus County, Texas.4,3 He was the son of Madora Hunter and Ida Mae Offill.5 He married Orean Newsom on 16 November 1935 at Titus County, Texas.6 On 16 October 1940 James Autry Hunter was described as as being 5ft, 11in in height with blue eyes and black hair and a sallow complexion when he filled out his draft card for WWII.7 He died on 25 November 1997 at Ore City, Upshur County, Texas, at age 80.8

Gilmer - Services for James A. Hunter, 80, of Ore City will be held at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Dugger officiating. Burial will be in Coffeeville Cemetery. Mr Hunter died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at his residence.
Born Oct. 31, 1917, in Mount Pleasant, he was a member of Coffeeville Baptist Church and for most of his life resided in Upshur County. He was an equipment operator, retiring from Lone Star Steel. He married Orean Newsome Nov. 16, 1935 in Gilmer. She preseded him in death April 27, 1991.
Mr. Hunter is survived by a special friend, Bessie Cavitt or Ore City; a sister, Opal Love of Carthage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be Otis Gilmore, Morris Gilmore, Bubba Pendarvis, Roland Adams, Bill Langford and Tommy Gene Gilmore.9
