     Mary Rebecca Wells was born in January 1847 at Todd County, Kentucky.³ She was the daughter of William Horace Wells and Mary E. Porter. She married Benjamin Hord Milliken, son of John Milliken and Harriet Louisa Hord, in 1870 at Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky.⁴ She died in February 1890 at Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky, at age 43.³

     Newton de Marquis Wells was born on 2 March 1839 at Republic of Texas.¹ He was the son of Samuel G. Wells and Phebe Parker.¹ He died circa 3 November 1857.

     Rachel Wells was born on 27 March 1720 at Prince George's County, Maryland.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Wells.² She married John Wright Sr. circa 1738.¹ She died on 23 December 1771 at Colonial America at age 51.¹

     Rebecca Elany Wells married Ratio Cannon King, son of Julian King and Rebecca Cannon.

     Ruth Wells is the daughter of John Newton Wells and Ida M. Gregg.¹

     Samuel G. Wells was born on 7 July 1811 at Kentucky.¹ He married Phebe Parker, daughter of Elder Daniel Parker and Martha Dickerson, on 15 May 1834 at USA.¹ He was was also a member of Captain William Turner Sadler's Mounted Rangers between 1 January 1836 and 16 March 1836 at the area now known as, Anderson County, Texas.^2,3 He began military service on 4 June 1836 at San Augustine County, Texas. He ended military service on 4 September 1836 at San Augustine County, Texas. He was elected Justice of the Peace of Precinct No. 6 on 24 September 1842 at Houston County, Texas.⁴ He was comissioned as JP on 11 April 1843 and resigned on 18 Mar 1844.⁴ He was was shown on the state tax rolls as having two slaves and 1390 acres of land in 1846 at Texas.⁵ He was was authorized by the Legislature of the new State of Texas to order an election for Commisioners for the newly formed county of Anderson on 24 March 1846 at Texas.^6,7 Was appointed Sheriff of Anderson County on 18 January 1847 to replace Peyton Parker who had resigned. Samuel served until 7 August 1848.⁸ He petitioned the State of Texas to reimburse in land the cost of a horse lost in service to the Republic of Texas in 1853 at Texas.⁹ He was registered to vote on 26 September 1867 at Freestone County, Texas.¹⁰ He married Lettie Mariah Garner, daughter of Unknown Garner, in 1874.¹ He died on 8 February 1887 at Freestone County, Texas, at age 75.¹¹ He was buried after 8 February 1887 at Freestone County, Texas.¹¹ "DIED- At his residence, eight miles east of Fairfield, on Tuesday morning, Feburary 8th, 1887, of pneumonia, Mr. Samuel G. Wells, aged about 73.

Mr. Wells, like a good many of our old pioneer citizens, came to Texas from Tennessee. He became a citizen of the State about 40 years ago, settling first in Eastern Texas. In early life he was an energetic stirring man and took an active part in the busy scenes incident to the early settlement of the State. He was a citizen of Anderson County, when it was organized, and was elected its first Sheriff. Mr. Wells was a man of considerable information and was well liked by his neighbors. He had been a resident of the county for many years, having moved here, we think, before the war. He was well known to many of our oldest citizens, who will reget to hear of his death.¹²

     Samuel Horace Wells was also known as Horace.² He was born on 25 December 1849 at Todd County, Kentucky, In the 1850 census, Samuel's age is listed as 1, however most biographies/histories list his birth as being 25 Dec 1850. Since his father was the enumerator, as birthdate of 1849 or 1848 is more probable.¹ He was the son of William Horace Wells and Mary E. Porter.¹ He married Sallie M. Mimms, daughter of William T. Mimms, on 1 June 1881 at Todd County, Kentucky.¹

     Sarah Catherine Wells was born on 17 September 1835 at Texas.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel G. Wells and Phebe Parker.¹ She married Duncan Perry H. Graham on 3 July 1851 at Freestone County, Texas.^1,2 She died circa 30 April 1870.

     William Horace Wells was born on 23 October 1820 at Kentucky.² He was the son of Jesse Wells.³ He married Mary E. Porter, daughter of Samuel Porter, before 1843 at Todd County, Kentucky. He appeared on the census of 2 August 1850 at Todd County, Kentucky.⁴ He died on 30 April 1854 at Todd County, Kentucky, at age 33.^2,3 He was buried after 30 April 1854 at Elkton, Todd County, Kentucky.²
