     Lettie Ellen Lawson married Spencer Henry Wayne before 1912 at Tennessee.

     Mildred Lois Lawson was born on 3 April 1901 at Spencer, Owen County, Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of David Thomas Lawson and Laura A. Arnett.¹ She married Raymond William Carpenter, son of George A. Carpenter and Ella Briggs, on 25 January 1920 at Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana.¹

     Verna Louise Lawson was born on 12 August 1897 at Spencer, Owen County, Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of David Thomas Lawson and Laura A. Arnett.¹ She married Howard Raymond Duncan, son of Clarence Duncan and Anna Fedder, on 25 April 1925 at Owen County, Indiana.¹

     Barbara Ann Layne is the daughter of Walter Scott Layne and Lois L. Cooley.¹

     Charles Layne was born circa 1834 at Tennessee.¹ He married Elizabeth Oyler before 1854 at USA.¹

     Charles Reed Layne was born on 9 July 1897 at Marion County, Tennessee.^1,2 He was the son of William M. Layne and Cynthia Ann Hunter.¹ He died on 23 January 1937 at Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, at age 39.³

LAYNE- Funeral services for Charles Reed Layne, 39, whoe died at a Chattanooga hospita Saturday, will be held at Kimball Church of Christ, near South Pittsburg, at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Elder J. E. Stewart officiating. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Collins Layne; mother, Mrs. William Layne; four brothers, James A., Pat, Scott and Frank, all of South Pittsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Griswold and Mrs. Edith Thatch, Chattanooga. He was affiliated with the W. O. W. and S. M. I. U. and the Redmen. Pallbearers will be, active, A. J. Doss, Dan Doss, W. A. Hargis, C. A. Rogers, Robert Jones and Will McGuire; honorary, Robert Hammond, Frank Carter, Ernest Lovelady, Will Massengale, Charlie Scharer and Tom Garland. Arrangements by J. B. Rogers & Co.⁴

     
Charles died due to an accident. He was helping a neighbor (Ed Mason) bring logs down from the woods to be use on Mason's cabin. Unfortunately, one of the logs (being drawn by a mule) fell on Charles causing extensive internal injuries. Charles was taken from the scene of the accident to Chattanooga where he died at the hospital from his injuries.⁵

     Cynthia Ann Layne is the daughter of Walter DeWitt Layne and Nancy Jean VanLaar.¹ She married Paul Adrian VanSweden on 16 May 1975 at Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.²

     David Layne was born circa 1864 at Tennessee.¹ He was the son of Charles Layne and Elizabeth Oyler.¹

     Elisa J. Layne was born circa 1866 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Layne and Elizabeth Oyler.¹

     Grace Layne was born on 10 December 1917 at Tennessee.¹ She was the daughter of James Andrew Layne and Lula Evaline Thach.¹ She appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 in the household of James Andrew Layne and Lula Evaline Thach at East Saint Louis, Saint Clair County, Illinois.² She married Richard Leon Eaves, son of John T. Eaves and Alice E. Unknown, after 1940.³ She died on 29 January 2011 at Tennessee at age 93.¹ Grace Layne Eaves was greeted in heaven by her family and friends Saturday, January 29, 2011.
Grace is now with her mom, Lou Thatch Layne; dad, Jim Andy Layne; husband, Richard Leon (Sleepy) Eaves; son, James Richard (Jim) Eaves. She also rejoined more family and friends; Chester Blevins, Carl Parmley and Loraine Massengale.
Grace attended secretarial school, owned and operated Eaves Trailer Parks, owned Turney's Grocery and volunteered many years at Kimball School.
She left many family and friends; son and daughter, Joey and Bett Eaves Price; grandpuppy, Teddy Price; long life friends Wes and Lois Farmer, Margaret Parmley, Jim Blevins, Clyde Massengale, Mickey McNeese, and Mildred Welch.

The family received friends 2 to 4 p.m. eastern time, Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. central time, Monday, January 31, 2011, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.⁴ She was buried on 31 January 2011 at Jasper, Marion County, Tennessee.⁴
