Mavis Ione Jordan, age 73, of Brainerd, formerly of Bay Lake, died Oct. 1, 2007, at the Corner Stone Villa in Buhl. She was born on Oct. 13, 1933, in Flom, Minn., to Lawrence and Olga (Dahlby) Burud. She married David A. Jordan on July 14, 1956, in Moorhead, Minn. Mavis had a strong faith that was an example to all around her. She was accepting of her end because she was confident of her salvation. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1952. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, Bay Lake Area Lions Club, an adviser for Luther League. She was on the board of directors for Southview Court Homeowners Association. She was an employee for Salem Lutheran in Deerwood.
She is survived by one son, Daniel (Julie) Jordan, of Hibbing; a daughter, Loretta (Dave) Engle, of Burnsville; two grandchildren, Amy Jordan and Michael Jordan; two stepgrandchildren, Heather Engle and David Engle; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Brenton Engle and Christopher Engle; three brothers, Dean (JoAnn) Burud, of Camdenton, Mo., Le (Kathie) Burud, of Barnesville, Robert (Kay) Burud, of Frisco, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Jordan, of Edgerton, Wis., Dennis Jordan, of Janesville, Wis. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; and a sister, Lorraine (Mrs. Curt) Ramberg.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood. Burial will be at the Bay Lake Cemetery in Bay Lake Township. Friends may call on Thursday at the Koop Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to services at the church.4

WHEELER, SALLIE BUSCH, passed away peacefully at the University of Virginia Medical Center Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, with her family by her side. She was 70 years old. Mrs Wheeler was among the pantheon of heroes in equestrian sports and, together with her husband, Kenneth, was a highly successfully exhibitor with Hunter / Jumpers, Hackney and Saddlebreds. She was the daughter of the late Catherine Milliken Busch and Adolphus Busch, III (past president of Anheuser-Busch Companies), and the niece of August A. Busch, Jr.
Mrs. Wheeler married Kenneth in August 1965, and the couple had three children: Kenneth, Jr., of Memphis, TN., Gordon (Cappy) from Harrodsburg, KY., and Douglas from Keswick, VA., and Roundup, MT. There are four grandchildren, Catherine, Rose Marie, Cara Lee and Gordon Adolphus. She also had two children, Sallie Motch, Cold Springs, N.Y., and Robert Motch, Carthage MO.,and five grandchildren, Robby, Lucy Marie, Will, Donald and Alex, from her previous marriage to the late Robert Motch.
Mrs. Wheeler was well known for her unyielding contributions of time and energy to a number of equestrian organizations and committees as well as for her skills in the show ring. In recent years, her interests turned to the National Horse Show in New York where she served as chairman and campaigned to return the show to Madison Square Garden in 1996.
Visitors are welcome to Cismont Manor Farm, Keswick, VA., and the funeral will take place at Grace Episcopal Church, Keswick, VA., on WEdnesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at 1 p.m. A reception will be held afterward at Cismont Manor Farm, Keswick, VA.
A graveside interment service will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, St. Louis, on Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at 3:30 p.p. Those who wish may send flowers or a memorial contribution to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.

Woman Dies, 3 Hurt as 3 Autos Crash
Columbus, Ind. (UP) - A woman was killed and three other persons were injured Thursday night in a spectacular traffic accident involving three automobiles and a truck towing a house trailer at the intersection of U.S. 31 and a Bartholomew County road south of here.
Killed in the crash was Mrs. Gertrude Boles, about 50, Tampa Fla., a passenger in a car driven by her son Barry, 19, also of Tampa.
STATE police said a car driven by Lester Pape, 26, Yonkers, N.Y., was traveling along the county road and failed to stop at the intersection with U.S. 31. The Pape car was hit broadside by the Boles vehicle, which then spun around and was hit by the truck driven by Bruce Jacobi, 22, Salem.
THE IMPACT of the crash rolled the Boles car over an embankment into a cornfield. A car driven by O. E. Haggstrom, 32, Louisville, Ky., then smashed into the Pape car.
Hospitalized here were Boles, his sister, Farry, 13, and Pape's wife, Sheila, 21.6
Rites Set For Mrs Boles
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude M. Boles of 440 Spruce Street and Tampa Fla., will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Harry W. Moore Peace Chapel. Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Boles, 56 years old, died Thursday after injury in an automobile accident on U.S. 31, five miles south of Columbus. Her son, Barry O. Boles, 19 years old, and her daughter, Farry L. Boles, 13 years old, are still in the Bartholomew County Hospital with injuries received in the accident.
A native of Mount Upton, N.Y., Mrs. Boles had lived here 28 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, Harry O. Boles, died in 1947.
Surviving besides the son and daughter, are three other daughters, Mrs. Charlotte E. Homes of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mrs. Elsie Delong of Tampa, and Mrs Sharry B. Taylor of Indianapolis; Two other sons, Larry R. and Harry B. Boles, both of Indianapolis; two brothers, Bilbert Bushnell of Mount Upton and Charles Bushnell of South New Berlin, N.Y., and 13 grandchildren.7
