     Jerome Stephen Najvar also went by the name of Jerry.^1,3 He was born on 7 November 1942 at Atascosa County, Texas.^1,2 He was the son of Thomas David Najvar and Anna Albina Zapalac.¹ He began military service on 21 May 1964 in the United States Army.⁴ He married Mary Anne McFadyen circa 1968.⁵ He ended military service on 20 May 1968.⁴ He died on 31 December 2007 at Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 65.^4,3

MINEOLA - Jerome "Jerry" Stephen Najvar, 65, of Rhonesboro, Texas, passed away Monday, December 31, 2007, at a Houston hospital. He was the sone of the late Thomas Najvar and the late Annie (Zapalac) Najvar. He was the father of nine children and grandfather of 22 grandchildren. He was a retired supervisor for Exxon Pipeline Co.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Anne Najvar.
He is survived by his wife Maeve (McFadyen) Najvar of Rhonesboro; two daughters, Mary Theresa Slaten and husband, Neal, of Nacogdoches and Catherine Mary Najvar of Houston; six sons, Kenneth Joseph Najvar and wife, Jetta, of Tomball, Stephen Paul Najvar and wife, Janet, of Spring, David John Najvar and wife, Bekka, of College Station, Gerald Martin Najvar and wife, Rhonda, of Douglas, Mark Jerome Najvar of Houston and Andrew Michael Najvar of Rhonesboro; two sisters, Betty Richter of San Antonio and Frances Spring of Moulton; three brothers, Ivan Najvar of Victoria, Tommy Najvar of Falls City and Bill Najvar of Kingsville; and 22 grandchildren.
Dad - you were a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. You were the perfect role model; the strongest man we ever knew; truly the rock of our family. Everything we are, we learned from you. It is unbearable to think of life without you, but God is good and by his good grace we will face each day until we meet again. We miss you Dad.

     Jimmie Marcel Najvar also went by the name of Jim.^2,3 He was born on 2 April 1948 at Victoria County, Texas.^1,4 He was the son of Marcel John Najvar and Alice Marie Horney.¹ He married Mary Jay Campbell on 15 April 1972 at Texas.^5,6 He and Mary Jay Campbell were divorced on 11 August 1977 at Bexar County, Texas.⁶ He married Lila Jolaine Lanehart on 14 March 1982 at Travis County, Texas.⁷ He died on 12 April 2017 at Texas at age 69.¹

Jim was a devoted husband and father and educator throughout his life. Upon retiring from 34 years in education, Jim became active as a volunteer in state and national parks and refuges and with the Rio Grande Valley Chapter Texas Master Naturalists. From knot tying to pointing out the wonders of nature, Jim always found joy in learning and then sharing that knowledge.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, MJ Najvar.
Surviving Jim are his wife, Jolaine Lanehart, sons Sam Najvar (Annette) and John Najvar (Ana). Also, Grandchildren Chris Najvar (Kayla), Brittny Najvar, Sebastian Quilo and Miranda Quilo and great-grandchildren, Rocklyn and Knoxton Najvar. Jim is also survived by his mother Alice Najvar; brother Allen(Wendy) Najvar and three sisters, Janice Carville (Royce), Patricia Morris (Ronnie) and Annette Milliken (Tim); as well as several nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 17,2017 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Home.

     Joe Najvar is the son of August Najvar Sr. and Jenovefa Smykal.¹

     John Najvar was born in January 1882 at Texas.¹ He was the son of Josef Najvar.¹

     Josef Najvar was also known as Joseph after coming to Texas. He was born in November 1847 at Moravia.¹ He married Klara Unknown on 24 June 1892 at Lavaca County, Texas.^1,2 He was the founder of the Czech language newspaper, Nasinec in 1914 at Hallettsville, Lavaca County, Texas. He died on 16 January 1915 at Lavaca County, Texas, at age 67.³

     Judi Gayle Najvar is the daughter of Albert Alois Najvar and Jo Anne Frances Thornton.¹ She married Michael A. Gonzalez on 18 December 1993 at Kleberg County, Texas.²

     Julius Najvar is the son of August Najvar Sr. and Jenovefa Smykal.¹

     Kenneth Joseph Najvar is the son of Jerome Stephen Najvar and Mary Anne McFadyen.¹ He married Jetta C. Damuth on 30 August 1991 at Gregg County, Texas.¹

     Kristine Marie Najvar was born on 12 July 1966 at Kleberg County, Texas.¹ She was the daughter of Albert Alois Najvar and Jo Anne Frances Thornton.¹ She married Morris Dale Cotton Jr. on 31 March 1990 at Nueces County, Texas.² She died on 24 September 2019 at Kingsville, Kleberg County, Texas, at age 53.³

     Marcel John Najvar was born on 18 August 1928 at San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.³ He was the son of Thomas David Najvar and Anna Albina Zapalac.³ He married Alice Marie Horney, daughter of Alex Horney and Anna Willms, before 1946 at USA. On May 1946 Marcel John Najvar was described as 6' tall with blond hair, blue eyes, a light complection and a mole at the right corner of his mouth when he registered for the draft.⁴ He died on 7 December 1993 at Goliad, Goliad County, Texas, at age 65.³

Goliad - Marcel J. Najvar, 65, of Goliad died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1993.
He was born Aug. 18, 1928, in San Antonio to the late Thomas David and Annie Zapalac Najvar. He was a retire consultant, having worked in the oil industry. Mr. Najvar was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors: wife, Alice Najvar; daughters, Janice Carville of Paonia. Colo., Patricia Morris of Victoria and Annette Milliken of Round Rock; sons, Jim Najvar and Allen Najvar of Goliad; sisters, Betty Richter of San Antonio, Agnes Porter of Houston and Frances Spring of Gonzales; brothers, Ivan Najvar of Victoria, Billy Najvar of Kingsville, Thomas David Najvar of Falls City and Jerry Najvar of Longview; and seven grandchildren.
Also preceded in death by: sisters, Margaret Najvar and Annie Najvar; and brother, Albert Najvar.
Rosary service: 7:30 p.m. today, Colonial Funeral Home chapel in Goliad.
Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Friday, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. Jude Belisle officiating.
The body will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. Friday until service time.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery in Goliad, Colonial Funeral Home, Goliad, 645-3216.
