C.L. Mullen was born on 8 February 1926 at Freestone County, Texas.1,2 He began military service circa 1942 at USA Note: WW II Veteran: BAT C 475th ANTI-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY / US ARMY.1 He married Audry Laverne Mitchell, daughter of Clarence Joseph Mitchell and Mary Velma Richardson, on 28 January 1948 at USA.3 He died on 3 March 1988 at Waco, McLennan County, Texas, at age 62.1,2 He was buried on 5 March 1988 at Freestone County, Texas.2,1 Funeral services were held Saturday in Fairfield for Freestone county native C.L. Mullen, 62, who died last Thursday at Providence Hospital in Waco.
Mr. Mullen was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Freestone county and was a retired sign foreman for the Texas Highway Department. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and lived in Fairfield.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Donald Pruitt officiating.
Special music was provided by organist Leslie Freeman.
Burial was at Antioch Cemetery in Freestone county.
Pallbearers were Glendale Black, Billy Ray Vestal, H.J. Cannon, Curtis Freeman, Johnny McLeod and Mark Chavers. Honorary pallbearers-were highway department employees.
Mr. Mullen is survived by his wife, LaVerne Mullen of Fairfield; a daughter and son-in-law Diana and Jimmy Rogers of Sulpher Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debbie Mullen of Fairfield and Donald and Martha Mullen of Arlington;
Five sisters, Ida Minchew, Ada Baker and nova Flowers, all of Fairfield, Mary McFarlin of Kaufman and Frances Harper of Jacksonville; three brothers, Deward Mullen of Nacogdoches and Bowie Mullen and Clois Mullen, both of Fairfield; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.2
