     August Ambrose Najvar was born on 22 January 1912 at Hobson, Karnes County, Texas.1 He was the son of August Najvar Sr. and Jenovefa Smykal.1 On 16 October 1940 August Ambrose Najvar was described as being 5'9" tall, aproximately 173 lbs with brown hair, gray eyes and a ruddy complexion when he registered for the draft.1 He died on 12 September 1959 at Karnes County, Texas, at age 47.2
