     Joseph Louis Cook Jr. also went by the name of Joe. He was born on 4 October 1942 at Willacy County, Texas.^1,2 He was the son of Joseph Louis Cook Sr. and Lennie Mae Rogers.² He married Shelly S. Novak on 23 October 1980 at Odessa, Ector County, Texas.³ He and Shelly S. Novak were divorced on 17 November 1980 at Odessa, Ector County, Texas.⁴ He married Marsha Ann Campbell, daughter of Marshall B. Campbell and Erman Williams, on 3 July 1997 at Odessa, Ector County, Texas.¹ He died on 9 August 2025 at Texas at age 82.⁵

Joe Cook, born on October 4, 1942, was a beloved husband, father and friend who received his well-earned wings and went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on August 9, 2025.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Marsha Cook, the love of his life, with whom he shared an extraordinary journey filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment over the decades. Together, they created countless memories that will be treasured by their family and friends. Joe leaves behind a wonderful family, including his cherished children: Sherri Conran, Todd Cook, who is engaged to Debbie Gillihan, Lori Brown and her fiancé Kevin Dixon, Bruce Milliken, and Karen Milliken. His brothers Dwight and Earnest Cook, their wives Debbie and Alice, and his sister Judy Day. He also has a remarkable legacy in the form of his beloved grandchildren: Michelle, Tiffany Sarah, Chelsi, Courtney, Jolie, Tiffany Le’anne, Cameron, Dalton, Nathan, Brandon, Hunter, and Connor. They all hold a special place in their hearts for their grandfather, as do his 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. all of whom will carry forth his memory for generations to come.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Peggy Cook, and his daughter Pamela Kologinczak, both of whom he held dear in his heart throughout his life.

A challenging family environment shaped Joe's life, but from an early age, he was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit that set him apart. With the encouragement and support of his friends, he dedicated himself to working day and night in a modest one-car garage at home, which became the birthplace of his first business venture. His passion and determination paid off when he realized his dream of creating a business, Caprock Exploration, that allowed him to earn a living while he slept, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Over the years, Joe distinguished himself as a great and successful businessman, laying the foundation of his career on hard work, integrity, and an innovative vision. He operated Cook's Engine Service for an impressive 58 years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to quality and service, and he was involved in several other business endeavors. His achievements established him as a pillar of the community, leaving behind big shoes to fill.

Yet, beyond his professional milestones, Joe was best known for his astounding loyalty as a husband, his steadfast friendships, and his deep compassion for others. He had a heart as big as his personality, drawing people to him with his warmth and kindness. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will forever cherish the indelible mark he left on their lives.

Joe's life was a powerful testament to love, generosity, and unwavering faith. While he will be profoundly missed by all, his family takes solace in the belief that he is now in the loving presence of the Lord, reunited with cherished loved ones who have gone before him—along with a special reunion with Elvis!

A celebration of Joe’s remarkable life will be held at 2:00pm on August 16,2025 @ Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa.Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible man he was.

     Richard Weldon Cook is the son of Arlie Elmer Cook and Annette Sue Boles.¹ He married Gloria A. Perry, daughter of Robert L. Perry and Floralee F. Rourke, on 24 May 2001 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.¹

     Tommy Cook was born in 1902.¹ He married Cassie Lee Pitt circa 1920. He died in 1982.¹

     Walter Cook is the son of Joseph Cook and Martha Barnes.¹

     Lois L. Cooley married Walter Scott Layne, son of William M. Layne and Cynthia Ann Hunter, on 19 July 1926 at Marion County, Tennessee.¹

     Carrie Christine Coonrod married James Thomas Doyle, son of Diane Jacqueline Curry, on 21 October 2000 at Collin County, Texas.¹ She and James Thomas Doyle were divorced on 11 November 2009 at Denton County, Texas.³

     Donald Coons married Judy Maxwell, daughter of Robert J. Maxwell and Marie Darling Boles, in 1960 at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.¹

     Allen Cooper married Lila Gladden before 1887.¹
