     Byron Thomas Stewart was born on 12 May 1922 at Leesburg, Camp County, Texas.² He was the son of Thomas Alonga Stewart and Berthal A. Patterson.^3,2 He married Nelda Jean Milliken, daughter of Arthur Benjamin Milliken and Callie Hortense McCullar, on 6 August 1949.^1,2,4 He died on 6 May 2009 at Longview, Gregg County, Texas, at age 86.²

Services for Byron Thomas Stewart , 86, of Longview will be 2:00 pm Saturday , May 9th, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Dean Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park. Mr. Stewart died peacefully at his home Wednesday evening.

Born in Leesburg, Texas May 12, 1922, Byron was the 6th of eight children born to T.A. and Berthel Patterson Stewart. He was educated at Leesburg High School in Camp County and attended Del Mar College and the University of Houston. Byron served with the Army Air Corp during World War II stationed in California and Okinawa. He retired as General Manager of Texas Kenworth of Longview. Byron was an active member of the Alpine Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nelda Milliken Stewart; his sons and daughters-in-law, David Arthur and Barbara Stewart of Pottsboro, Texas and Mark Thomas and Suzanne Stewart of Austin; his daughter and son-in-law, Nelda Carolyn and James Lawrence of Tulsa; grandchildren, Adrienne McKinney and husband Chris, Daniel Stewart and wife Eileen, Greg Stewart and wife Anna, David Jennings Stewart, Austin Lawrence and wife Katherine, Alec Lawrence and wife Catie, and Eric Alvarez; great grandchildren, Avery, Kaleb, and Emerson McKinney; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Friday evening a 6 to 8 PM.⁵

     Linda Sue Stewart married Larry L. Wells, son of James O. Wells and Mary Helen Bow, after 1965 at USA.¹

     Mark Thomas Stewart married Suzanne Unknown.¹ He is the son of Byron Thomas Stewart and Nelda Jean Milliken.¹

     Nelda Carolyn Stewart is the daughter of Byron Thomas Stewart and Nelda Jean Milliken.¹ She married James P. Lawrence after 1968.^1,2

     Quintin Stewart was born before 1785.¹ He was the son of Unknown Stewart and Jenny Milliken.

     Rachel Stewart was born before 1785.¹ She was the daughter of Unknown Stewart and Jenny Milliken.
