Joyce Rees Williamson was born July 15, 1924 to Aubrey and Amanda Rees in Hamlin, Texas and passed away on March 18, 2009 at UMC Lubbock, Texas with her loving family by her side.

She lived a life full of love and kindness, and possessed a unique beauty that touched many lives. She was very strong in her faith, and active in her church and bible study.

Joyce was raised in the farming and ranching community of Westbrook, Texas and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1941. She married Joe T. Williamson of Colorado City, Texas on November 2, 1941. They spent their lives together in San Diego, California and Big Spring, Texas before moving to Snyder, Texas in 1956. Joe and Joyce have resided in Snyder until her death. They were married for 67 wonderful and glorious years.

Joe and Joyce had 3 children (Jane Maroney, currently residing in Snyder, Jay Williamson and his wife Sammie from Austin, and Jodi Williamson and his wife Tama, also from Austin), 8 grandchildren (Todd Maroney, Jana Fariss and husband Monty, Aubin Pope, Seth Williamson, Julie Williamson, Jayne Powers and husband Jordan, Jayme Severson and husband Jeff, and Brooke Adair. They also have 8 great- grandchildren.

Joyce is also survived by her 3 sisters Jimmie Hopper of Stanton, Shirley Dorn of Colorado City, and Patsy DeRouen of Nederland. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lewis (Choppy) Rees of Westbrook, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20 2:OO PM at the First United Methodist Church in Snyder.

     Jimmy Ray Rees also went by the name of Jug.1,2 He was born on 6 November 1946 at Mitchell County, Texas. He was the son of Charles Louis Rees and Valiere Elizabeth Milliken. He married Vickie Lee Jarratt, daughter of James Lester Jarratt and Emma Lucille Dorn, on 28 January 1967 at Mitchell County, Texas. He died on 10 May 2007 at San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas, at age 60. He Jimmy Ray “Jug” Rees 1946-2007 COLORADO CITY -- Mr. Jimmy Ray “Jug” Rees, age 60, died Thurs., May 10, 2007, in a San Angelo hospital. A memorial service was held Sat., May 12, in the First Baptist Church in Colorado City with Jesse Hodge officiating. Cremation under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Jug was born Nov. 6, 1946, in Colorado City to C.L. “Choppy and Valarie Milliken Rees. He had been a lifelong resident of Mitchell County. He married Vickie Jarratt on Jan. 28, 1967, in Westbrook. She preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 2004. He was a longtime farmer and rancher, and more recently was the County Commissioner for Precinct 1 in Mitchell County. Jug was also preceded in death by his mother, Valarie Rees.
