Patrick Noel Hegenbart1,2
M, b. 24 December 1952, d. 4 September 2012
Patrick Noel Hegenbart was born on 24 December 1952 at Barstow, San Bernadino, California.1,3 He was the son of Henry Hegenbart and Mildred Moss.3 He married Loreena Faye Sandlin, daughter of John David Sandlin Sr. and Etta Marie Gregory, on 31 August 1974 at Speedway, Marion County, California.1 He died on 4 September 2012 at Mountain View, Stone County, Arkansas, at age 59.3
Major (Ret) Patrick Noel Hegenbart PA-C passed away in his Mountain View Arkansas home on September 4, 2012 at the age of 59. He was surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family.
Patrick was born December 24, 1952 in Barstow, California to Henry L and Mildred J (Moss) Hegenbart. He was the seventh son. In 1961, the family moved to Paradise, California.
Patrick attended Maryknoll Junior Seminary in Mountain View, California for two years; then went on to graduate from Paradise High school in Paradise, California in 1970. After graduation, Patrick enlisted in the army. He began his military career as a Special Forces medic and went on to become an Orthopedic Physicians Assistant. He retired from the US Army in May 1996 after serving 23 years. Most of his military service was overseas; his last tour was in Wurzburg, Germany where he met Dr Charles Varela. They became fast friends and when Patrick retired he joined his friend Dr Charles Varela in Mountain View, AR. Patrick loved his job and his patients and yes, he had many favorites. Patrick was a very generous man, a man of character and integrity. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
While in San Antonio,Texas in December 1973 he met the love of his life, Loreena. They enjoyed a loving and full life together and on August 31, 2012 celebrated their 38 year anniversary. Patrick loved his family, traveling, riding his motorcycle, being in the outdoors, reading and spending time in prayer. His faith was very important to him. And when he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in May 2012 and as it quickly progressed into terminal cancer he trusted in God's Will. He chose to spend his final days at home with his family. Over Labor Day weekend we as per Patrick's request held a celebration of his life with family. All attendees wore 60's theme attire and music played. Patrick was able to participate in limited capacity but he was filled with so much joy throughout his weekend celebration.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mildred (Moss) Hegenbart, sister Mary Anna, 3 preborn grandchildren and "adopted spiritual mother" Ida Vanlandingham.
Arrangements are with Roller-Crouch Funeral Home.
The Celebration of life will continue with a Rosary on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 6pm and a wake to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
The funeral Mass will begin Saturday September 8, 2012 starting with Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 10:30, Mass at 11am. Fr. John Lewandowski and Deacon Joseph Hegenbart will be presiders.
