     Lula C. Gafford was born on 26 December 1891 at Stewart County, Tennessee.2,3 She was the daughter of Robert C. Gafford and Martha Annie Minervia Green.2 She married Herman Alfred Milliken, son of John Beard Milliken and Annie E. Grizzard, on 30 January 1911 at Stewart County, Tennessee.1,4 She died on 28 July 1979 at USA at age 87. She was buried after 28 July 1979 at Stewart County, Tennessee.

Mrs. Milliken

Lula Milliken, 86, died Saturday at General Care Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at AnglinMemorial Chapel with the Revs. Lee Wallace and George Sanford officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Valley Cemetery.
She was born in Stewart County on Dec. 26 1892, the daughter of Bob and Manervia Green Gafford. She was married to the late Herman Milliken.
She is survived by four sons, Thomas and Douglas Milliken of Woodlawn, Lelsie Milliken of Smyrna, and James Milliken of Dover; five daughters, Lola Milliken, Mrs. Woodrow Mullins, and Mrs. Francis Rosson of Clarksville, and Mrs. William Austin and Mrs. Wesley Wyatt of Indian Mound; two brothers, Jesse Gafford of Dover and Lucians Gafford of Michigan; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
She was a member of the Rose Valley Unitied Methodist Church.3

When I spent the night there, the smells of the wood stove, bacon, eggs and homemade biscuits were certain to get me out from under three layers of homemade quilts each morning." - Tara Milliken Wiese.4 Nina Gladys Gafford was born on 29 April 1926 at Stewart County, Tennessee.3 She was the daughter of Oscar Gafford and Lola Mae Wyatt.5 She married Russell Reed Milliken, son of Garland Elias Milliken and Goldie F. Keatts, on 4 March 1944 at Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky.1,6 She died on 15 January 2016 at Dover, Stewart County, Tennessee, at age 89.3 Nina Gladys Milliken, 89 of Dover, TN passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Diversicare of Dover. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5-8:00 pm and on Sunday from 12-2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home.

She was born April 29, 1926 in Stewart Co., TN daughter of the late Oscar and Lola Mae Wyatt Gafford. Mrs. Milliken was a life lifelong member of the Rose Valley United Methodist Church. She was also retired as a seamstress from Ely and Walker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Milliken, brother, Hershell Gafford and sisters, Earlene Mullins and Charlene Gafford. Survivors include her children, Ross Milliken (Faye), Dover, TN, Donna Butts (Mack), Dover, TN, Terry Milliken (Donna), Dover, TN, James Milliken (Kathy Gray), Clarksville, TN, grandchildren, Angie Hughes, Michelle Odom, Lucynda Cook, Marcine Corlew, Tara Wiese, Russ Milliken, Gina Milliken, Reed Milliken, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family members.

In lieu of other memorials, donations may be made to the Rose Valley Church and Cemetery, c/o Donna Butts, 1827 Old Hwy 79, Dover, TN 37058.5 She was buried on 17 January 2016 at Dover, Stewart County, Tennessee.3

     Samuel Houston Gafford was born on 10 August 1870 at Stewart County, Tennessee. (Sam was probably born in 1869 since the 1870 census indicates that he is one year old.)1 He was the son of William A. Gafford and Francis Smith.1 He married Annie Wyatt on 24 December 1894 at Stewart County, Tennessee.2 He died on 8 January 1951 at Stewart County, Tennessee, at age 80.1

S.H. Gafford Dies At Indian Mound

Samuel Houston Gafford, 80, died at his home in Indian Mound Monday afternoon, Jan. 8 following an illness of two years. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Rose Valley Methodist Church. The Rev. Delwin Fryer officiating and burial was in the Heflin cemetery, Milligan & Ridgeway were in charge.
A native of Stewart County, he was born August 10, 1870, son of William and Frances Smith Gafford. On Dec. 25, 1894, he was married to Annie White, who survives with five sons, Oscar, Clarence, Clifton and Buford, all of Indian Mound, and Lee Gafford of Clarksville, and four daughters, Mrs. Chesley Keatts, Mrs. Marvin Heflin, of Indian Mound; Mrs. Roy Legate, of Clarksville, and Mrs Delma Lee of Detroit. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Three of the grandchildren were reared by Mr. and Mrs. Gafford - Mrs. Nina Gafford Milliken, Miss Thelma Gafford and Herschel Gafford.
Mr. Gafford was a member of the Rose Valley Methodist Church.3
