He married Mary Karnes, daughter of Manoah Franklin Karnes and Callie Gregory, on 15 February 1921 at Chico, Wise County, Texas.3 He married Helen Irene Roland on 8 December 1973 at Texas.4 He and Helen Irene Roland were divorced on 18 April 1974 at Erath County, Texas.4 He married Helen Irene Roland on 9 August 1974 at Hood County, Texas.5 He died on 30 November 1978 at Stephenville, Erath County, Texas, at age 77.1,2

Otto Van (Bill) King of Stephenville, a former Odessa resident, dies at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Stephenville Hospital following a sudden illness.
Services for King, 77, were scheduled for 3 p.m. today in the Stephenville Funeral Home chapel with burial in the Erath Garden of Memory.
He was born Aug. 7, 1901 in Cook County and lived in Odessa from 1946 to 1955. He lived the past 23 years in Erath County. He was a Presbyterian and retired building contractor.
Survivors include two sons, K. V. King of Mesquite and R. M. King of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Kay Nabors of Glen Rose and Mrs. Joe Bynum of Stephenville; two brothers, B. F. King of Midland and Harold King of Muleshoe; two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Joiner of Lubbock and Mrs. Ethel Smith of California; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.2
